Voluntour Trips
Service Adventures
(Wikipedia) Volunteer travel, volunteer vacations or voluntourism is travel which includes volunteering for a charitable cause. In recent years, “bite-sized” volunteer vacations have grown in popularity. The types of volunteer vacations are diverse, from low-skill work cleaning up local wildlife areas to providing high-skill medical aid in a foreign country. Volunteer vacations participants are diverse but typically share a desire to “do something good” while also experiencing new places and challenges in locales they might not otherwise visit.
There are also other types of travelling that engage people with scientific research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Participants cover a fee that would include expenses on the different sites worldwide, and engage in projects according to their interest or desired location.

In 2011, the Manifest Foundation launched a division solely committed to providing “hands-on” opportunities for community members to travel, and donate back part or all of their vacation time to volunteering. These vacation opportunities, called DreamVoluntours, are facilitated through a unique partnership with WorldVentures and Rovia DreamTrips, and handle trip promotions and booking for travelers, and also assist the Manifest Foundation in negotiating the best possible rates for each travel experience. “My experience in building and leading Voluntours over the last four years has proven to me that there is no better way for a donor to understand the gift and impact their dollar is making, than to actually visit and work side by side with the donation recipients,” shares Spryte Loriano, Executive Director of Manifest Foundation. “Trips like this change your perspective of poverty and provide profound experiences you just cannot get any other way. The key to a successful DreamVoluntour is partnership! The Manifest Foundation goes through a careful screening and vetting process of each of its Voluntour Impact Partners, the organization(s) and people providing the work “on the ground,” to ensure trips are safe and well organized, establishing trust in the sustainability of the projects, as well as financial and moral accountability of the group receiving funding.
