EXTREME DREAM MAKEOVER DREAMDAY:
Dallas, TX


Have you ever watched Extreme Makeover and secretly wished you could help a family? What if you could return home after Momentum! with stories about the experience of a lifetime?


Join the Manifest Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star for a Extreme Dream Makeover DreamDay! You'll be part of a platoon of do-gooders who descend upon the homes of several struggling, hardworking Dallas families to give them the surprise of a lifetime: a home makeover!

This is not a mission for the faint of heart. It'll take make-it-happen-minded people willing to lend muscle, creativity, sweat and a whatever-it-takes-attitude to turn a house into a home. You'll race against the clock as you compete with other teams to help deserving and grateful families.

When: Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012
Time: 9 a.m. (arrival at your Extreme Dream Makeover DreamDay home) until 3 p.m.
Registration Cost: $60 per person, no exceptions. This fee will cover materials, a pizza lunch and bottled water. You may use additional funds during the event to complete your list.

“In all my years of impact work, I have never seen anything like this.  It's what one might expect in a poor rural or third world area.  One home was so bad, I thought I was standing in a home in Nicaragua...and our General Contractors said that house was beyond repair for our Extreme MakeOver Day and needed to be condemned.  Remember, these are homes that “Littles” (children mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters) who are staying off the streets, out of gangs, in schools and usually on the honor roll, are living in with their families!

One 12 year old “Little”, when asked what she wanted to change in her room (which had holes in the walls and just two mattresses on the floor - not even a dresser) just said “Carpet...it gets really cold back here”.  It is completely devastating to know that US families - and some of the “Littles” we are supporting with an important Big Mentor - are living in these conditions!!  But it is so empowering to know WE can do something to help!

The good news is that we did identify FOUR houses we can make a sizeable difference in on our One Day Extreme DreamMakeover - and it's going to be beyond words to be part of that experience.  Each of the families are humble, appreciative, and caught in the vicious cycle of poverty that exists right here on our own streets.  This whole thing has come together and is flowing quite magically thanks to the incredible support from three WorldVentures Members...Max Klein, Mike Robare and Cynthia Roberts.  Their commitment to help make this a rewarding and unforgettable experience has blown my mind.”

  • Transportation to and from the event will not be provided.  You must carpool, take your own vehicle, rent a car or van, or find your own transportation to your assigned Extreme Dream Makeover DreamDay home.  All homes will be within 25 miles of the Grand Hyatt.  Use your teammates' contact information to coordinate transportation.

  • Bring clothes that you can get paint on, rubber gloves or work gloves, and snacks and beverages to stay energized.

  • Be prepared to be at your Extreme Dream Makeover DreamDay home at 9 a.m. and to stay until 3 p.m.  If you arrive late or leave early, you'll let your team down!
